We do allow you to use FrontPage Server Extensions, but because of the security risks involved, we will charge you an additional $10 per month to do so.

A counter is simply an HTML <img src="..."> tag that you can include in the source of your web page. An example is this:

Where "filename.dat" is the file that stores your count. The exact filename is your choice, but should be related to the theme or title of your web site. Yes. Create a directory called cgi-bin in your home directory and then e-mail help@omsoft.com to grant execute permissions to that directory. You may then place scripts that require execute permissions in that directory and reference them on your web site.

Short Answer: No. Long answer: This is actually something you can do fairly easily. Many search engines have a link on their main page that let you submit your web site to their index. For example, AltaVista Search has a link at the bottom of their home page called "Submit A Site". Lycos Search has a link at the bottom of their main page called "Add Your Site to Lycos." Following either of those links will step you into the process for getting your web site indexed on the internet.

Yes you can. It requires that you have DSL, ISDN, a T1, or some other type of dedicated internet connection. If you are using DSL, it requires that you have a static IP Address (Other services require static IP Addresses anyway). It also requires that you get DNS Service from Omsoft Technologies/DCN. You would be completely responsible for your own server and the services it runs.

If you are planning to host your domain at home and have your own DNS server, then no. However, you will need to supply your domain registrar with the address of your DNS server. We will not provide support for this.

No. We will not allow you to host a public FTP site on our server.

An e-mail alias is a virtual e-mail address that will forward mail it receives to an alternately named account. It can forward mail to another account on our server, or it can forward mail to accounts on other servers.
