Does Omsoft Technologies offer web-design services? No. Do you register my site with search engines? Short Answer: No. Long answer: This is actually something you can do fairly easily. Many search engines have a link on their main page that let you submit your web site to their index. For example, AltaVista Search has a link at the bottom of their home page called "Submit A Site". Lycos Search has a link at the bottom of their main page called "Add Your Site to Lycos." Following either of those links will step you into the process for getting your web site indexed on the internet. Can I host my web/mail/domain on my server at home? Yes you can. It requires that you have DSL, ISDN, a T1, or some other type of dedicated internet connection. If you are using DSL, it requires that you have a static IP Address (Other services require static IP Addresses anyway). It also requires that you get DNS Service from Omsoft Technologies/DCN. You would be completely responsible for your own server and the services it runs. If I have a DNS server on my DSL line, do I need DNS service from Omsoft? If you are planning to host your domain at home and have your own DNS server, then no. However, you will need to supply your domain registrar with the address of your DNS server. We will not provide support for this. Can I set up a public FTP directory? No. We will not allow you to host a public FTP site on our server. What is an e-mail alias? An e-mail alias is a virtual e-mail address that will forward mail it receives to an alternately named account. It can forward mail to another account on our server, or it can forward mail to accounts on other servers. |
