Once the Start menu is opened, click on Control Panels, then Network and Internet Connections:

Click on Network Connections:

Double click on the Local Area Connection icon, then click on the Properties button.
Connection types
Under installed components click on Internet Protocol (TPC/IP) so that it's highlighted and then click on Properities.
Connection properties
Set IP to Use the following IP address and enter the IP address for the DSL service that you were assigned.
Enter the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0
IP Address configuration windows
Type in the Gateway address exactly as assigned to you.
Enter the DNS servers as shown here:
Preferred:168.150.253.2
Alternate::168.150.253.1
Click the OK button, then click OK again at the Local Area Connections Properties window.
You have now completed the Static IP configuration.
