Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source email client by the makers of the Firefox web browser.  You can download it here:  https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird.

 

Begin by opening Thunderbird.  If this is the first time you have opened the program after installing it, the setup should begin automatically. If not, look for the “Create a new account” heading, and click on “Email”.  If you are already using Thunderbird and adding a new account, you can click on the menu (the three horizontal bars) and go to “options” and “accounts”.

A window will pop up asking if you would like a new email address.  Click “Skip this and use my existing email”.

On the next screen, you will need to enter your name, email address, and password.  If you do not know your password please call Omsoft for help.  Check the box to remember password and click on continue.

If things were all correct on the last screen, you should see something like the screen the one below.  Click done, and you will begin receiving email.

Most users will be finished at this point, but we will go over the Manual config for users with more complicated setups.

Click on Manual config to start.
